2017 Guys’ Getaway
The sixth annual Guys’ Getaway was held March 24 & 25, 2017 at Camp Summers & Manget. Twenty five men and six teen boys were in attendance. The speaker was Reverend Tom Hinkle, a retired Kentucky Pastor of thirty years who currently pastors in Moncks Corner, SC. Thirteen Churches were represented.
The Theme was Building Your Faith, based upon the book of Jude. There were four sessions, and the first session focused on building a solid foundation before concentrating on building your Faith. We, as Christians, must build our foundation upon Jesus! The remaining sessions focused on building, sharing and dwelling in the Word of God.
The Getaway allowed time for Fellowship, relaxation, music by Pastor David Drumheller and of course the meals! Plans are underway for the 2018 Getaway. Hope you make plans to be a part of it!
2016 Guys’ Getaway
The annual Guys’ Getaway sponsored by the Eastern Conference Cartwright Men’s Fellowship was held on March 18-19 at Camp Summers & Manget. There were five teen boys and twelve adult men in attendance.
The theme for the weekend was “Running the Race” based on Hebrews 12:1. Rev. Joel Simpson, pastor of First SMC of North Charleston, was the featured speaker for the weekend. He presented challenging messages that encouraged the men to exercise their spiritual faith and to shed off both physical and spiritual baggage that may be holding them back. The men were also blessed with music from the men of the Cotton Gin Church in Reevesville, SC.
